Takahashi Meijin no Boukenjima IV

This is the glorious Takahashi Meijin no Boukenjima 4 (aka Hudson's Adventure Island 4), which was the final game released for the Famicom retailing at 5800 yen or US $58.67. It's release date, June 24, 1994, marked the end of the Famicom legacy. At that time the Super Famicom was well established having been released about three and a half years earlier, Takahashi Meijin no Daiboukenjima 2 (Super Adventure Island 2) was just about to be released for the Super Famicom/Nintendo, and Playstation 1 would soon begin its reign that coming Christmas. However, Nintendo of Japan felt they could squeeze one last ounce of jungle juice from the good ol' Famicom and Takahashi Meijin would give one last heroic effort to save Princess Leilani from whoever had kidnapped her that time. Unfortunately, Nintendo of America felt otherwise and it was never released in the US.
